Opportunities for teachers at all stages of their career

The RSA Academies Teaching School Alliance offers various CPD opportunities to teachers working in the five Family of Academies and occasionally to staff in other schools. Please see below for a list of training available:

Message from Ipsley CE RSA Academy:

We regret that we have had to postpone the CPD session due to take place at Ipsley CE RSA Academy on the afternoon of 24th June 2015 on changes to the KS2 curriculum and SATs. Unfortunately, as there are still gaps in the information about the changes to the end of KS2 National Curriculum tests (SATs), we are postponing until we can give colleagues the full picture. In the meantime, if you do have any questions about the KS2 curriculum or testing, please feel free to email the Vice Principal, Angela Saul, at asaul@ipsleyacademy.co.uk

  • Outstanding Teaching and Learning Training Day – on 17.06.15 at Arrow Vale RSA Academy from 9am-3pm

A chance for attendees to share strategies and resources that have worked in terms of securing outstanding teaching and learning. The day will also include the opportunity to learn more about the Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP).   • Behaviour and Attendance Training Day – on 23.06.15 at Arrow Vale RSA Academy from 9am-3pm.

Sharing strategies and resources that have worked in terms of securing outstanding attendance and persistent absence data. Aimed at Heads of Year and senior leaders with responsibility for behaviour and attendance. Event is free to staff working in schools in the RSA Family of Academies.  External delegates may attend at a cost of £99 per delegate.   • Moving on with the KS2 SATs – on 24.06.15 at Ipsley CE RSA Academy from 2.30pm-4.30pm.

Will cover both an overview of the changes to the KS2 SATs, taking effect from 2016 and ideas on supporting an effective transition between Years 6 and 7. Event is free to staff working in schools in the RSA Family of Academies.  External delegates may attend at a cost of £35 per delegate.   • Mental Health and SEN – on 26.06.15 at RSA Academy, Tipton from 9am-2.30pm

Professor Barry Carpenter leads a morning of training on the current trends in the complex needs and mental health of our learners, and how we can adapt pedagogy and practice to meet their needs.   • Achieving Excellence in Behaviour and Attendance – on 26.06.15 at Arrow Vale from 8.45am-3pm

RSA Academy Arrow Vale has made great progress in terms of Behaviour and Attendance. Our Annual RSA Academies Teach-meet provides opportunity to share innovative pedagogy and practice, network with other staff in the RSA Academies family and enjoy a good buffet.
