GCSE and A-Level Results 2017
Huge congratulations to all the GCSE and A-Level students who have received their results over the summer.
RSA Academy Arrow Vale are celebrating their best ever A Level results. 56% of grades achieved were at A*-B with 48% of grades at A*-B in A level subjects. 49% of students achieved at least 1 A/A* grade.
Principal, Ian Mellor, said: “This is a fantastic set of results and is testament to the hard work of students, staff and parents. We are particularly pleased that all students who had applied for university were successful in securing their place.”
There were some excellent results for Whitley Academy in year 13. 97% of all grades were passes, 74% of grades were C or above. There were particularly good results in some of the Applied courses with most Art and Sport students achieving a Distinction or Distinction Plus. Charlotte Richmond achieved 2 A grades at A level and Natalie Hill Achieved 1 A* and 2 A grades. 100% of the year 13 students have a positive destination and pathway beyond Post-16.
At Holyhead school, 98% of students achieved an A*-E grade and 94% of students doing BTECs achieved at least a Distinction. Particular praise goes to Rujina Begum, who secured grades to read Medicine at the University of Birmingham with AAA who was “certain that she wouldn’t have achieved these results without the teaching and support she has received.” Special mention must also go to Akash Malhi for achieving Holyhead School’s first A* in maths.
