Following a design brief

Competing against your classmates

RSA Academies pupils from Arrow Vale RSA Academy, Whitley Academy and RSA Academy in Tipton were set the challenge of designing a lapel badge for their Principal.  Initiated by RSA Fellows, Bill Good and Patrick Fuller, students participated in a series of creative workshops and went on a tour of Weston Beamor‘s workspace in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.  They completed a design of a prototype and gave a presentation to a judging panel at the end of June 2014.  Each school worked with a student from Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD) as a mentor to help them with the design process.

Chris Smith, Maths, Science and Technology Lead Practitioner, STEM and IBCC Coordinator at RSA Academy in Tipton wrote about the project for RSA blogs.
